New PS5 Update Adds Shareable Game Session Links and Voice Command Enhancements

The PS5's latest system software update has arrived, delivering some much-needed quality-of-life changes to the console.

As detailed on the PS5 system software update support page, Version: 24.05-09.60.00 is now live. Chief among the additions is the ability to create a shareable link for inviting friends to multiplayer gaming sessions. To use this feature, you simply open your game’s session action card and select the new option labeled Share Link. This will generate a QR code which, when scanned with a phone, will produce the link.

Another useful enhancement has been applied to the PS5's Voice Command feature. It is now possible to open a title's Game Help action cards by speaking the phrase "Show Game Help." While the Voice Command feature remains available only in English for now, this addition promises to be a helpful accessibility update.

The latest system software update also includes the usual performance and stability improvements. Moreover, Sony has rolled out a device software update for certain DualSense Wireless Controller models to enhance stability further.
